AAFMED HELPS MAKAO

Makao

cody

Makao came from a shelter in Northern WI and had significant muscle atrophy in the upper and lower part of his leg. He was shot by a farmer for chasing his chickens and left in the field to die. Fortunately someone found him and brought him to the shelter and they called Badgerland German Shepherd Rescue; and after looking at that gorgeous face who could refuse to take him?!

Luckily Makao's story has a happy ending. Badgerland put in an application with AAFMED and we were able to help fund the surgery, performed at Lodi Veterinary Hospital, and the bullet and fragments were removed from his leg. Makao then underwent rehabilitation in his foster home, swim therapy and underwater treadmill therapy and soon he was good to go for finding his forever home! Makao was adopted in October 2005 and has been living with his family ever since!     paws
