                           LUKAS

Lukas is a German Shepherd/Labrador mix. He turned two years old on 5/25/10 and is searching for his forever home.  Lukas has some very special skills as he was in training to be a service dog, however he did not make it due to his shyness around new people. Lukas would be perfect for an older person or couple who need help picking up around the house!  He retrieves just about anything you drop on the floor!  He would also excel in a rally or agility type of class.  He should not be placed with children under 12 years of age and will need an understanding home due to his shy nature.  He takes a while to warm up to new people, but once he does, he ADORES them.  He gets along great with other dogs, all size ranges, and did live for a time with a cat.  He will require several meet and greets before placement is considered. Other requirements are a fenced yard, minimum 5 feet in height.  If you are the forever home for Lukas, please email ARF's for more information

                   VALENTINO

This handsome young fellow is Valentino! Valentino is a sweet tempered, affectionate, curious and loving neutered male.  We've had his DNA profile done, and while we  could tell you what his mix is, we think it would be more fun for you to guess! Sssh...we'll give you a hint....are you ready?  He does have...(drum roll here!) German Shepherd in him!  Now go on and guess the next breeds and email us at gsd@arfrescue.com! Valentino is a stray who was found on Valentine's Day, and he is also the biggest lover ever, so he fits his name.  He loves to snuggle, give kisses, be petted and groomed, loves to ride in the car, is housetrained, crate trained and gets along well with other dogs.  Cats not recommended. Children over 6 years. Visible, physical fence five feet tall is a must. Val likes to go for walks and his adoption will also require a complete obedience training course. Val would excel at agility, scent trailing and Rally obedience. He will be an excellent biking, hiking, jogging or walking partner. He just likes to go along! The only thing we've found that Val doesn't love is having his nails trimmed! Val is 21" at the shoulder and approx 30 pounds. He is somewhere between 10 months a year old. You can see he's a handsome fellow, with striking amber eyes and a friendly,
open face. If you are interested in this loving and lovable young dog, please contact the folks at AGSR and ask for
Valentino!

                                  BITTY

This is L'il Bit or Bitty as she is affectionately known.  She was born 2/6/10 and has a condition known as chondroplasia (a form of dwarfism) that affects her legs.  She currently weighs 30 lbs and does not think she is any different than any other gorgeous German Shepherd Puppy! (and she isn't!)  Bitty will require a fenced yard, owners who understand that she will need some rehab to keep her mobile and someone who will truly appreciate the HUGE spirit of this little girl!  If you are interested in providing Bitty with a forever home (she does not do a lot of stairs well) please contact us at ARF's.  We think

that Bitty would excel at therapy work, as you cannot look at this little girl and have a bad day!!!

                ZEUS

Zeus is a very special boy. He has been trained for scent work and then discarded to a kennel away from anyone and fed and watered once a week. He lived this way for several years until Animal Control finally rescued him.   A wonderful couple made a long drive to get him as soon as we heard he was in danger of being euthanized.  They  have been fostering him since then and bringing him back to health physically and spiritually. He is now ready to move on to his forever home to some very special folks, and they will have to be special , because he is a VERY special dog.

Zeus has "Pannus" which is an auto-immune  eye disease that requires drops in his eyes daily without fail. His nose is healing from being so damaged from trying to get out of the pen he was isolated in. It is healing nicely.  He is very well housebroken, rides well in a car, loves people and attention. He needs a soft spoken person and cannot be kenneled or handled roughly. He doesn't mind being in a room with the door shut and is a perfect gentleman. He is very obedient but does need a fenced yard. He would enjoy a cat or a gentle non aggressive canine to spend time with.
He enjoys older children eight or over and loves to play ball with them. Zeus is 5-6 yrs.old and is neutered UTD on all vaccinations, heartworm neg. and micro chipped.  Zeus is trained in Polish, but does quite well with English commands as well.

                             ELLIE

Meet Ellie !   She is a beautiful black & silver bi-color female. Ellie has a lively personality and would enjoy an active home. Her obedience will be ongoing to bring her to the epitome of what she can be.  She rides well in cars and loves people. She has a habit of jumping which we are working on.
We don't recommend  Ellie in a home with cats. Ellie would do well with a male that is not overly dominant. No children younger than 10 because of her activity level.  Ellie is one year old.

Ellie is spayed, UTD, heartworm neg. and microchipped.

Hope is 3 years .old. Very people oriented dog. Would be ideal for a retired couple or someone that  has time available. She is very well housebroken and eager to please and learn. Hope is a very easy dog to be around,  She loves to play and rides very nicely in the car. All and all a lovely dog.
Hope would most likely do well with another sweet tempered dog..  She is much too enthusiastic towards cats to be a good companion for them.  Children over 8 years of age please. She is spayed, UTD on all vaccinations ,heartworm negative. and micro chipped.
